Mustard Greens (Sarsoo ka Saag)

Today i will introduce Mustard Greens (Sarsoo ka Saag) ricepe in my style.

Ingredients

  • Fresh green Mustard → 2 bunch(wash & roughly chopped)

  • Spinach → 1 bunch (wash & roughly chopped)

  • Fresh Fenugreeks → 1 cup leaves

  • Tomato → 1 Larg (cut into pieces)

  • Onion → 1 Larg (cut into pieces)

  • Garlic → 10 cloves

  • Green chili → 8

  • Whole red chili → 8

  • Salt → 1 & 1/2 tsp

  • Garlic cloves → 8 (finally chopped for temper)

  • Ghee → ½ cup

  • Butter → optional

Mustard Greens (Sarsoo ka Saag)

Recipe instruction

Follows these instructions 

  • Add the Mustard leaves, spinach leaves, fenugreek leaves, tomato, green chili, 8 garlic cloves, onion, and salt to a 5- or 6-liter stove-top pressure cooker.

  • Cover and pressure cook for 20 minutes after whistle on medium to high flame, or until the greens become soften. Wait for the pressure to fall naturally in the cooker and then remove the lid.

  • Let the pressure settle naturally. When you open the lid, you will see the all vegetables have cooked well. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

  • Now beat the all mixture with hand beater in same cooker and put on the flame medium to high.

  • Stir occasionally so that the mixture does not stick to the bottom of the pan.

  • When saag get thick according to your desire put off the flame.

Tempering

  • Take a pan on medium to high flame add ghee

  • When ghee melted add chopped garlic and fry till golden brown.

  • Add the cooked sarson ka saag to the tempering. Simmer for a few minutes until the saag becomes hot.

  • Saag is ready to serve.

Serving ideas

  • You can serve it with Cream paratha.

  • You can serve it with Makai or wheat roti.
